Kimberly Kimball

I happily reside in Essex, Vermont with my husband.  We have two fabulous children in their twenties. Being born and raised in the state of Vermont has fostered an appreciation for nature, simplicity and artisanship.  I recognize the delicate balance between nature and progress.  I teach art at South Burlington High School and really enjoy working with creative young people, manipulating materials, playing with color, solving artistic problems and challenging people to think.  I continuously take art  classes to develop and practice my skills.  I refer to my artwork as a process of “building paintings, provoking thought and stimulating conversation”.   I prepare textured surfaces by collaging labels, maps, organic materials and recycled resources that relate to the painted imagery.  I have designed pieces that rejoice in the beauty of nature and raise awareness about impact of development on the environment.  I also paint large portraits to commemorate the achievements of the younger members of my extended family.
